Almost A Stepmom

This one-woman comedy written and performed by Keara Barnes is based on a true story of how she traveled to her mother’s homeland of Ireland for a six month visit and ended up staying for three years.  It is a look at a life that could have been, but also a story about love and loss that provides the audience with both laughter and sadness.  Barnes gives a solid performance, seamlessly flowing from one character to another. The story also serves as a gateway to view relationships, breakups, custody battles, selfishness, poor choices, poor coping methods and the impact that all this can have on a child caught in the middle.  A touching and relevant story for the world of today, this one is worth checking out.
