Theatre Reviews

Jon Bennett, who is famous for his book and traveling show Pretending Things are a Cock”, is back again at the Fringe with a new story of love, loss, relationships and self-discovery. After laughing until I cried the first time I saw him, I have been checking out his shows ever since. His last two shows focused on his family, and while funny, they were not anywhere near the level of his breakout show. However, this year he unfolds a different story about coming of age, dating, betrayal, maintaining distance and then finally growing into his own skin. The story is really good, refreshing and makes some excellent points about finding self-worth, confidence and connection, all while being absolutely hilarious. Bennett is animated, charismatic and authentic. A wonderfully funny, witty and charming show, this one is definitely worth seeing.
