Against The Wall
Ash and Steve are both gay. Ash has been openly gay for a long time while Steve realizes he is gay but has trouble coming out. This play traces through each of their lives, showing how and when each of them came out. What could have been a potentially interesting story of two people meeting and finally finding happiness is marred by the simple self-help phrases which permeate this play. The self-help phrases are nice, but they unfortunately simplify the complicated issue of expressing one’s sexuality. There are better plays available at this year’s Fringe.
