Born In The Break

Born In The Break was your hip hop history lesson. Your hosts DJ Hunnicutt, DarkO, Ness, as well as a whole slew of special guests dug up the original breaks that were sampled by your favorite hip hop songs and played them for you. It didn't matter if it was soul, jazz, rock, easy listening, pop or comedy records, if it was sampled by a hip hop producer, it found it's way onto Born in the Break. Each episode also featured a breakdown, or if you were luck a super breakdown (!!), a weekly feature on a specific artist. Some of the great breakdowns have included Booker T. & the MGs, The Beatminerz, Bill Cosby, Prince Paul and Roy Ayers.

One of the highlights of this great show, which ran for close to 9 years (1999-2008), were the heated arguments between the hosts, which usually came about because Mr. Ness was almost always wrong.
