Our intrepid film buff, James Borsa of Ultrasonic Film really really
likes movies. So much in fact, that he hosts a weekly program here
on UMFM devoted to his love, every Thursday night from 10PM until
11PM. Here are some films from 2004 that James feels that you can
simply not miss, as well as some honorable mentions.

1.Finding Neverland - Warm, wonderful, old-fashioned sentimental
tear-jerker. Sharply acted, written and directed. A joyous celebration
of imagination.
2. Hotel Rwanda - Harrowing, Intelligent and surprisingly
not downbeat film. This Drama moves like an action movie. An unforgettable
true-life story.
3. Napoleon Dynamite - Simple but beautifully executed comedy,
loaded with priceless moments of wry humor, the more times I watch
it the more I want to see it again.
4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind -You never know
what is going to happen next in this cleverly mounted love story,
possibly the best cast of the year as well.
5. Badasssss! - An important film for film history, a strong
drama in it's own right, a terrific story of the harsh world of
film-making, a stunning example of father-son relations, all in
one movie!
6. Million Dollar Baby - Impassioned tale of friendship
and family conflicts, wonderful performances, a subtle sense of
humor adds enormous punch to this boxing drama.
7. Kinsey - A wild collection of strong humor, touching
drama, offbeat situations, crazy dialogue, interesting casting and
unpredictable moments.
8. Ray - A hollywood documentary that pulls no punches,
maintains interest despite extreme length, manages to expertly dodge
cliches and Foxx's performance is the best in a year of strong performances.
9. Sideways - Simple road movie is lifted up several notches
by believable characters, strong writing and acting, funny situations
and surprisingly moments, you really care what happens to these
people.
10. Garden State - Odd drama, not to everyone's taste, works
thanks to an innovative style and structure, not to mention a terrific
soundtrack, which is one of the best of the year.

Before Sunset, Two Brothers, Aviator, Friday Night Lights, The Life
Aquatic with Steve Zissou and Shaun of the Dead
