HEY
ABBOTT! Is a series of classic Abbott and Costello sketches framed around a
story of the two comedians going off to perform in The
one-liners are still surprisingly funny. I especially liked
“Who’s on First?” and the math lesson. Unfortunately, I
thought the hotel scene went on far too long and I probably would have cut
the shooting craps scene. I think this material works best in short scenes. Kevin Hamill is very funny as Lou Costello. He does a terrific
job changing his voice to deliver the punchline. Unfortunately, I couldn’t always
hear John Chase’s Bud Abbott. To improve vocal projection, I think
some of the scenes should have been moved to the front of the stage and there
should not be any music playing while the actors are talking. - Justin Olynyk
