Paper Jack Venue 6 – Tom Hendry
Theatre at the MTC Warehouse
This play
is a love story about the daughter of a merchant who comes to a village and
falls in love with Paper Jack. Unfortunately, Paper Jack’s emotions
control the weather and the passion he feels results in drought and hardship
for the residents. This is a
really beautiful play that even makes the audience think – it is fair
to put our own individual self interests (love) ahead of those of the
community. I also liked how this production incorporated song and dance into
this show. Unfortunately, I often had trouble hearing the actors. I think the
music should be turned down and I think the actors need to turn their bodies slightly
towards the audience even when they are talking to other actors. - Justin Olynyk
