Every Time I See Your Picture I Cry Venue 3 – The
Playhouse Studio
This was
a unique Fringe show. Visual
artist Daniel Barrow narrates as he tells the story of a young artist
struggling to grow up amidst bullies, gender confusion, and the constant
knowledge of being different from everyone else. Barrow’s narration is soothing
and full of subtle emotion. The
story is told by moving transparencies on an overhead projector; the layers,
the visuals, the detail, and the illusion of movement are all beautifully
created and fascinating. The
story is truly interesting and reflective. The music and video accompaniment are
also well weaved into the mix. I
found this to be a great performance, a different Fringe experience, and a
must see show. - Cindy Murdoch UMFM |
