Sherlock Holmes & The Saline Solution

Venue 18 – The Gas Station Theatre

Perennial Fringe favorites Sound and Fury return, bringing their madcap comedy style to the Sherlock Holmes stories in a brand new production. For those of you who have never seen a Sound and Fury show, (and there are still a few), their style is characterized by inventive word play, innuendo and outright bawdiness, with a liberal sprinkling of slap stick physical comedy and sight gags, delivered at a very high pace. The cast is also unsurpassed at establishing rapport with the audience, which typically results in some spontaneous moments of mirth. All of these elements were once again on display in this year's production. Truth be told, I have seen Sound and Fury sharper than on Wednesday evening, and I don't think that this is necessarily their strongest production. Nevertheless there are still plenty of laughs and funny surprises, and overall this is another entertaining and satisfying romp from these Fringe veterans.
