Sucker Venue 2 – MTC Up The Alley
In this
play, adapted from Brian Nelson’s terrific film Hard Candy, Gislina Patterson and Karl Thordarson
deliver some heavy handed strong performances. Debbie Patterson’s adaptation
does not stray too far from the film’s script. Like in the film, the story is
completely engrossing, twisted and compelling. It sucks the audience right in and
does not let go until it is over.
If you
have already seen Hard Candy, you might want to skip out on this one
as it is impossible to meet that high standard. However if you have not seen the film,
than this show is a must. The
performances are good, the sets and music are well used, and the story is one
of the most intense and interesting that you will find at this year’s
